IT TAKES Knowing the Basics to Keep Your Home Comfortable

When it comes to whole-home comfort, understanding heating and cooling equipment can be complicated. At Bryant, we want to make it simple. Just like our dealers have the tools to give you whole-home comfort, we want to give you the tools to make the right choices. And it starts with learning the basics. From HVAC to Indoor Air Quality and more, we’ve got your comfort covered.

Types of Systems
A central heating and cooling system produces warm or cool air in one central area and distributes it throughout your home. There are many types of systems that work as central systems, from traditional split systems (having both indoor and outdoor components) to packaged product systems (having one combined outdoor component for heating and cooling).
Products for central systems include:
• Heat pumps
• Air conditioners
• Gas and oil furnaces
• Fan coils
• Evaporator coils
• Controls and thermostats

Heating
Most central heating systems are forced air systems, which means they send air through ductwork for distribution.
Radiant systems, on the other hand, create heat from sources like boilers and deliver it through radiators throughout the home.
Heating products include:
• Heat pumps
• Gas furnaces
• Oil furnaces
• Fan coils
• Boilers

Air Conditioning
Whole-home air conditioning systems are central systems that rely on ductwork to deliver cool air throughout your home. An air conditioning system can provide cooling, ventilation, humidity control and even heating (if using a heat pump).
Typical air conditioning products include:
• Heat pumps
• Air conditioners
• Evaporator coils
• Fan coils

Controls
Controls and thermostats turn your heating and cooling system on and off in order to bring your home to a set temperature. On the go and want to change the settings? You can connect to your system from almost anywhere via Wi-Fi®+. Advanced technology found in the Evolution®control helps you save energy and reduces costs by giving you precise control over temperature, humidity, air treatment, scheduling and more.

Indoor Air QualityPollutants make their way into homes every day. And some pollutants, like dust, pollen, pet dander, mold, viruses and bacteria can be dangerous to your family’s health – aggravating conditions like asthma and allergies. The air inside your home can actually be 2 to 5 times dirtier than the air outside, leading the Environmental Protection Agency to declare indoor air quality a top five environmental health concern.
Fortunately, Bryant offers a wide range of air quality solutions you can count on for a cleaner, healthier indoor environment.
• Air Purifiers & Filters
• Humidifiers
• Dehumidifiers
• Ventilators
• UV Lamps
• Carbon Monoxide Alarm

Benefits of Variable-Speed Technology
Variable-speed technology allows your heating and cooling system to quietly ramp up only to the speed necessary to maintain the desired level of comfort inside the home, unlike traditional systems that run consistently at full speed. These slower speeds mean your system doesn’t have to work as hard for as long. It’s more efficient and better able to maximize comfort by creating more even interior temperatures and better humidity control, all while stretching your energy dollars.
Also, variable-speed technology generally operates at a much quieter level than other heating and cooling systems due to its slower speeds. Less waste. Less noise. More savings.
Check out our complete line of variable-speed products, including:
• Evolution® High-Efficiency Gas Furnace
• Evolution® 80% Efficiency Gas Furnace
• Evolution® V Air Conditioner
• Evolution® Extreme Heat Pump
• Evolution® V Heat Pump
• Preferred™ Geothermal Heat Pump
• Evolution® Fan Coils
